- Saturday April 26 to Wednesday April 30 Coefficients: 90 to 108
- Monday May 26 to Thursday May 29 (Ascension Day) Coefficients: from 92 to 97
- Monday July 11 to Wednesday July 13 Coefficients: 93 to 95
- Tuesday August 12 Coefficient 95
- Monday September 8 to Thursday September 11 Coefficients: from 97 to 106
All that’s left to do is get your gear, boots, scraper and landing nets! And don’t forget your sun cream!

History:
In France, there’s a unique way of expressing the amplitude of the tide: we use an indicator called the tidal coefficient. As defined by SHOM (Service Hydrographique et Océanographique de la Marine), this is the quotient of the harmonic formula’s semi-diurnal tidal range and the mean tidal range for equinoctial spring tides, assumed to be 6.1 m at Brest, the reference port.
… Didn’t you understand that sentence? Don’t worry, we didn’t either!
👉 The simple fact is that the tidal coefficient is an indicator of the tidal range at any given moment.
👉 This is a dimensionless number, usually between 20 and 120.
✓ Coefficient 120: Extraordinary equinox spring tides
✓ Coefficient 95: Mean spring tides
✓ Coefficient 70: Mean tides
✓ Coefficient 45: Mean neap tides
✓ Coefficient 20: Lowest neap tides
